Following publication of the Edgmond Echo and postings on Edgmond Chit Chat, the Village Hall committee would like to address the issue regarding dates for reopening of the hall.
From 21st June, if government recommendations remain the same, the hall will reopen to small user groups only.
It has been agreed that bookings for private functions will not be accepted for the time being until the committee are in a position to follow any restrictions that the government may put in place. This ensures that people wishing to book a function are not ultimately disappointed and protects volunteers who may be called upon to provide catering or man the bar. This position will be reviewed in September but it may be that no bookings will be accepted until 2022.
It is anticipated that weekly afternoon teas will recommence after 21st June but this is subject to government advice and could possibly involve limiting capacity,
The monthly Table Top Sale will recommence in Spring 2022. Initially, it was hoped that it would start again in September, but with the uncertainty and the fact that we would then be approaching winter, it was decided that the more cautious approach should be adopted to protect sellers, buyers and helpers alike.
The committee appreciate that many people wish to get back to normality as soon as possible and, likewise they are anxious to get the village hall back to its previous position as a thriving centre of our community, but we hope that the reasons for our cautious approach will be understood and we are all hoping that in 2022 we will once again be a fully functioning hub in the village.
